Intrepid Davy (Vitagraph)

Intrepid Davy is an Orientalist comedy about a dim-witted American sailor who visits a harem on an excursion during a “cruise” to Constantinople. At the end, the punchline centers on the reveal: the alluring women behind veils turn out to be hideous.
